Heat embossing using To A Wild Rose

Thank you for visiting today as I join other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world in playing along with our friend Kylie’s International Blog Highlights to share cards that show appreciation.
The theme for this hop is “Thank you”. Many people forget those simple words. I have seen people’s days brightened because someone said a simple thank you to them.
Show your appreciation to people in your lives who have inspired you, helped you or supported you by sending them a thank you card or project.

Today I have used retiring products – To A wild Rose stamp set (which is selling at a really good price at the moment) and Rococo Rose card stock(which is no longer available). This technique will be as effective on any of the dark colour card stock.

You can see how I made this card in the video below:

Butterfly Beauty Thank You Card

Thank you for visiting today as I join other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world in playing along with our friend Kylie’s International Blog Highlights to share cards that show appreciation.

Show your appreciation to people in your lives who have inspired you, helped you or supported you by sending them a thank you card or project.

I made this card using the Butterfly Beauty dies with the Rainbow Glimmer Paper. The best part of using this glimmer paper is that depending on where you place your dies, the colours of the butterflies will change. Use a different colour for the base of your card and you will get multiple looks using the same design. I used adhesive sheets on the back of the balck card stock before I cut out the top layer details of the butterflies. This makes it much easier and far less messy to stick the intricate die cuts. For the sentiment I used the Many Messages bundle. The stamp is ONE big stamp that has a whole heap of different sentiments on it. You can then cut them all out with the die. I would use most of the sentiments, so I have stamped a few and cut them out. I keep them close while I am crafting. I have a quick look through and pick the one that suits the card that I am making. The backing for the sentiment is the die cut on Magenta madness card stock. I cut it in half and then layered the two halves behind the sentiment.

I constantly marvel at the peculiarities of human nature. When we have coloured DSP, we complain about the colour combination or would like it a bit more monochrome. Along comes black and white images, and we immediately need to add colour! Here I added spots of colour using Highland Heather, Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. I haven’t mastered the art of beautiful, complex colouring, so I go for quick and easy!
