Rise and Shine colour challenge

I hope that everyone is healthy and finding lots of crafting to do to pass the time. I decided to take up the colour challenge on Colour Inkspiration on FaceBook. You can have a look at their page https://www.facebook.com/groups/349642308720075/
They post a picture and then list the colours in the picture for the challenge.
Below is the picture for this challenge

My interpretation of these colours:

I have been wanting to try the latest craze – “scrappy strips” and thought that the colours would work well with this. I used the Sale-A-Bration second release Rise & Shine stamp set which co-ordinates with the Cup of Cheer dies. Remember this stamp set is only available as a free level 2 item when you spend $180. If you want this, you will need to be quick as Sale-A-Bration ends on the 31st March.

During this difficult period, you can occupy your time locked at home by doing crafts. Stampin’ Up! is still operating, and anything that you order can be delivered directly to your door. Browse my online store or contact me by email or my FaceBook page if you need some assistance.

Stay well, stay healthy and keep crafting

Little Ladybug meets Honey Bee

About 3 weeks ago (when life was still normal), I met a friend for coffee. I was expecting it to be a sit down coffee, but she had to get back to the office, so we did take away. As I wasn’t expecting to do take away, i didn’t have my keep cup with me, so I had to get a take away cup (which I try to avoid as much as possible)

The cup was so cute! It had daisies and bees printed on it and was screaming at me to make a card. I wasn’t very good company during that coffee, as my mind was working overtime imagining that card.

I have put that cup away safely, so that I had it to use for my card, and I don’t know where I have put it!! Unfortunately I can’t share my inspiration with you, but I can share the finished card.
I used the Little Ladybug stamp set for the flowers, which is a host set available for Sale-A-Bration. The bees are from the Honey Bee stamp set, and the sentiment from the Tags In Bloom whcih is part of the Sale-A-Bration second release.
Sale-A-Bration ends on the 31st March, so if there are any items that you still want, be sure to get your order in.

During this difficult time, we can use our isolation to do crafts. The best thing is to receive a handmade card in you post box. If you live in Australia and don’t have a demonstrator I would love to help you with your crafting needs. Feel free to contact me, or you can shop at my online store
Stay safe, stay healthy, keep crafting

Paper Crafting Blog Hop – Simple and Elegant with Flowering Foils

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. Fellow demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia are participating. We have a wide array of fun projects and design styles to share with you! Our theme this month is Happy Birthday. You may have arrived from Shirley Merker’s blog. She always has a fabulous project to show to us!

With all the craziness in the world at the moment, we all need something to brighten our day. My answer to spreading happiness is to send a card. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t get a warm fuzzy when a hand made card arrives in their post box. The most common reason for sending cards is birthdays.

We are nearing the end of Sale-A-Bration and are onto the second release. I have used the new Flowering Foils Specialty DSP and the So very Vellum Specialty DSP. I fussy cut the flowers from the DSP to stick onto my cards.

As the vellum comes in 3 gorgeous colours, and I couldn’t decide which one I liked best, I had to do cards using all of them! Which one is your favourite?

Makeover Monday – Thoughtful Blooms

When I saw the Thoughtful Blooms and Small Blooms punch in this year’s
Sale-A-Bration catalogue, I immediately thought of the Petite Petals stamp set and punch and I knew that this is a set that needed to be used in a makeover.

I looked through my old catalogues, but nothing was appealing to me. After a google search, I found a card that I loved. The original is an easel card that was made by Margaret Knight. You can see her original blog post here.
I decided not to do an easel card, but I did use her design. I inadvertently used multiple products in my makeover. Margaret had used A Nice Cuppa stamp set and Cups and Kettle dies on her card. I used Tea Together stamp set and Tea Time framelets on my card

I also embossed the back mat with the Subtle 3D embossing folder. I used the sentiment from the Thoughtful Blooms stamp set, but I can see this working really well as a Mother’s Day or get well card. You can find the complete list of products used in this project in my online store, or listed individually below

Let me know what you think of this makeover.

Paper Crafting Blog Hop – Lovely Lily Pad

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. Fellow demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia are participating. We have a wide array of fun projects and design styles to share with you! This month we are very excited to share ideas using products from the new mini and Sale-a-bration catalogues. You may have arrived from Shirley Merkers blog. She always has a fabulous project to show to us!

I am using 3 of the products from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. The first is the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set. This is a reversible stamp set, so you use both sides of the stamp for your images. Coordinating with that is the Lily Pad Dies, and to complete the card the gorgeous Lily Impressions DSP.

Coffee Cup Inspiration

I often find items in everyday life that offer inspiration to create a card. As I walk around, I am always taking photos of things that might make a pretty card. Whether it is a roll of wrapping paper, a print on a garment in a shop, or even something that someone is wearing while I am sitting having coffee in a café.

Every now and again when I’m out and about, I NEED a cup of coffee (I do live in Melbourne, the coffee capital of Australia, and we take our coffee very seriously!). Most times, I take my KeepCup to avoid single-use paper cups, but occasionally, if I don’t have my own cup with me, I’ll get a take-away cup. These are often boring, corrugated cardboard, but sometimes, the cup has a really lovely design, like the one I got yesterday.

I loved everything about this cup, from the design to the colour combination. I immediately knew which stamp set I had to use to make the cup into a card. The set is All Adorned, which is one of the Sale-A-Bration sets that you can choose as a free item if you make a purchase of AU$90. You only have one day left as Sale-A-Bration ends tomorrow, so be quick!

This is my card as inspired by the coffee cup.

Eclipse Frame Birthday Card

As usual, I hope you enjoy our Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Blog Hop, in which fellow demonstrators from around the world share their latest impressive projects. This month’s theme is ‘Happy Birthday’. If you have arrived from Shirley Merker’s blog, I am sure that her project was inspiring, as always!

The card that I have chosen this month is an eclipse frame card. I have used two different stamp sets in this card.

The first is Painted Seasons, which is one of the Distinktive stamp sets, so all the shading happens in a single stamp. This is only available until the end of March as your free Sale-A-Bration item if you spend AU$180. It comes as a bundle with the Painted Seasons DSP. The images in this set are beautiful and I’ll be sorry when it is no longer available.

The second set is Humming Along. This is my stamp set of choice at the moment for a birthday sentiment.

To make the card, start by stamping the sentiment in the middle of the page, then stamp your flowers and leaves around it. These flowers look lovely in any colour. For this card, I used Highland Heather and Grapefruit Grove for the flowers, and Garden Green for the leaves.

Next, choose a Rectangular Stitched framelit that fits around the greeting and use a larger one to make the frame to your chosen width.

Stick your thin outer edge piece onto the card base, then put a foam adhesive strip along the inner and outer edges of the frame and stick it onto the card base inside the outer edge piece.

Stick the rectangle with the sentiment on it inside the corresponding rectangle in the middle of the card. (This is stuck flat onto the card base so that only the frame is raised.)

Below is a picture of the products I used to make the card.

Pick a Colour…

I hope you are enjoying our Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Blog Hop featuring Sale-a-Bration 2019 products. Fellow demonstrators from all over the globe are participating, so we have a wide array of fun projects to share with you! You may have arrived from Shirley Merker’s blog. She always has a fabulous project to share!

I found myself marvelling at the peculiarities of human nature (specifically my own, but I’m sure everyone will be able to identify.) I was looking at the beautiful Sale-A-Bration Botanical Butterflies DSP, filled with gorgeous colours, but none of them were ‘talking’ to me. So how do you get DSP in a colour that appeals to you? Well, take one of the black-and-white designs and colour it yourself.

This enables you to have your DSP in whatever colour appeals to you on the day. I used the colours that match the Organdy Ribbon Combo pack, except for the green, which is Call Me Clover.

Did you notice the new punch that I used on these cards? This is part of a limited edition set of products that will be available from the 1st to the 31st March. Be sure not to miss out on these.

Below are the products that I used for these cards.

Thanks for hopping with us each month. Now click on the next image to hop over to Sue Boerner’s blog and see the fun project she designed.

Rock ‘n Roll Technique

I said that I was going to share some of the techniques that came back in my Circle Journal. This post is the first one.

This is the card that Beryl Crisp made for my Journal.

This is a lily that was growing in my garden. The darker edges inspired my to use this technique with the Lasting Lily stamp set. Below is my card.

Start by inking your stamp in a light coloured ink. I used So Saffron, and then gently roll the edges of the stamp on a darker ink pad (Lovely Lipstick) and stamp.

Be very aware of which ink pad you are using first. The lighter ink won’t have any effect on the dark pad, but if you get confused and roll a darkly inked stamp onto a pale colour pad, you will mess up your ink pad.

Lasting Lily is one of the stamp sets that you can choose as a freeby during Sale-a-bration. If you spend $180, you can choose this set as a free item. This is the only way that you can get this set, it cannot be purchased.

For the fist time (and to make things even more exciting), Stampin’ Up! is coming out with framelits that co-ordinate with the Sale-a-bration stamps. One of the sets is for the Lasting Lily (see the sample on the picture below). These will be available from the 1st – 31st March. Contact me if you would like more details about these framelits.
