Scrappy Strips Technique

Have you tried the latest craze in paper crafting that Bruno Bertucci started? He has called it scrappy strips and once you start you won’t be able to stop.

You can use plain card stock, embossed card stock, DSP or a combination of these. I did these cards using the new Ornate Garden Specialty DSP.

I did the Terracotta Tile card as a Facebook live to demonstrate the technique. If you missed it, you can watch the replay

If you try this technique, please upload photos of your cards to my Facebook page and share your creations

You can find all the products for these card here

The Ornate Garden Suite is a new product that is going to be launched in the new catalogue. It is available as a pre-order until the end of May. Click on the picture below to go to my online store to purchase this suite.

Paper Crafting Blog Hop – Under My Umbrella

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. Fellow demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia are participating. We have a wide array of fun projects and design styles to share with you! Our theme this month is “Thinking of you – Girls”. You may have arrived from Shirley Merker’s blog. She always has a fabulous project to show to us!

Many of us are using the Under My Umbrella bundle this month. With the difficult times that we are in at the moment, this stamp set seems to be designed for sending messages of love and friendship.

I started a project that I am calling my ‘card blitz’. I sent out a full sized card which I put a personal note into. Included in the envelope, was a matching note card. I told the recipient to send the note card to one of their friends that they wanted to reach out and touch.

This is the latest design in my card blitz. The frilly bit was cut out using the Ornate Layers Dies. I cut my Flirty Flamingo layer to size and then positioned the die in the centre. I used the piece that came out on the note card.

I hope that you will all join in my card blitz and keep sending cards. My favourite thing is a handmade card in the post box. This is a perfect way to spread happiness!

Join us for an all day virtual event

Hope this post finds your kitchen well stocked, your sometimes workout routine now an every day routine and that you have an hour a day you have devoted to paper crafting.

If you are banking crafting hours because you are dusting, organizing and cooking, would you like to join me for a virtual Global SU Share Fair? (If you haven’t been banking your hours, you are going to want to bank them for the next week and a half so that you have a whole day set aside for crafting)
I have teamed with fellow demonstrators around the globe to bring Facebook Live video demonstrations into your stamp space over next weekend, April 25th. We start in Australia, head to the United Kingdom next, visit Canada and end in USA.

Demonstrators will share products you can gather from your stamp space prior to the event so you can create along with us. If you don’t have the exact supplies, gather similar items you do have. Then share what you created along with us in the group.

Most of the projects are going to use DSP (designer series paper), so you will get tons of inspiration, (and hopefully the courage) to start using the pile that you have stashed away!

Joining the Facebook Global SU Share Fair is by invitation only. So please contact me to receive your invitation. You will need to accept the invitation to join the group. You must have a Facebook account to join the group.

We are looking forward to sharing super awesome projects with you!
I look forward to spending virtual time with you and other like minded people. Don’t be shy, join us!!

One Sheet Wonder – Mosaic Mood DSP

While we are all in social isolation, the best thing to do is make cards. My friend Shirley Merker did a craft along FaceBook live. You can view it here

My first attempt was done with the Mosaic Moods DSP. A word of warning, once you start it is difficult to stop! I changed Shirley’s scrap map slightly to accommodate the A4 sized cards. I used the piece that she fussy cut to make an additional 2 cards. Here is the scrap map that I used

For the mats I used 4 pieces that were 3¾” x 3¾” (7cm x 7 cm) and 2 pieces 4″ x 3¾” (10cm x 7cm)

Once I had made these, I couldn’t stop and went and made another set using the Magnolia Lane DSP

Have fun making these cards and get cutting into that stash of DSP

Rise and Shine colour challenge

I hope that everyone is healthy and finding lots of crafting to do to pass the time. I decided to take up the colour challenge on Colour Inkspiration on FaceBook. You can have a look at their page https://www.facebook.com/groups/349642308720075/
They post a picture and then list the colours in the picture for the challenge.
Below is the picture for this challenge

My interpretation of these colours:

I have been wanting to try the latest craze – “scrappy strips” and thought that the colours would work well with this. I used the Sale-A-Bration second release Rise & Shine stamp set which co-ordinates with the Cup of Cheer dies. Remember this stamp set is only available as a free level 2 item when you spend $180. If you want this, you will need to be quick as Sale-A-Bration ends on the 31st March.

During this difficult period, you can occupy your time locked at home by doing crafts. Stampin’ Up! is still operating, and anything that you order can be delivered directly to your door. Browse my online store or contact me by email or my FaceBook page if you need some assistance.

Stay well, stay healthy and keep crafting

Little Ladybug meets Honey Bee

About 3 weeks ago (when life was still normal), I met a friend for coffee. I was expecting it to be a sit down coffee, but she had to get back to the office, so we did take away. As I wasn’t expecting to do take away, i didn’t have my keep cup with me, so I had to get a take away cup (which I try to avoid as much as possible)

The cup was so cute! It had daisies and bees printed on it and was screaming at me to make a card. I wasn’t very good company during that coffee, as my mind was working overtime imagining that card.

I have put that cup away safely, so that I had it to use for my card, and I don’t know where I have put it!! Unfortunately I can’t share my inspiration with you, but I can share the finished card.
I used the Little Ladybug stamp set for the flowers, which is a host set available for Sale-A-Bration. The bees are from the Honey Bee stamp set, and the sentiment from the Tags In Bloom whcih is part of the Sale-A-Bration second release.
Sale-A-Bration ends on the 31st March, so if there are any items that you still want, be sure to get your order in.

During this difficult time, we can use our isolation to do crafts. The best thing is to receive a handmade card in you post box. If you live in Australia and don’t have a demonstrator I would love to help you with your crafting needs. Feel free to contact me, or you can shop at my online store
Stay safe, stay healthy, keep crafting

Paper Crafting Blog Hop – Simple and Elegant with Flowering Foils

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. Fellow demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia are participating. We have a wide array of fun projects and design styles to share with you! Our theme this month is Happy Birthday. You may have arrived from Shirley Merker’s blog. She always has a fabulous project to show to us!

With all the craziness in the world at the moment, we all need something to brighten our day. My answer to spreading happiness is to send a card. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t get a warm fuzzy when a hand made card arrives in their post box. The most common reason for sending cards is birthdays.

We are nearing the end of Sale-A-Bration and are onto the second release. I have used the new Flowering Foils Specialty DSP and the So very Vellum Specialty DSP. I fussy cut the flowers from the DSP to stick onto my cards.

As the vellum comes in 3 gorgeous colours, and I couldn’t decide which one I liked best, I had to do cards using all of them! Which one is your favourite?
