Ferrero Rocher Gift Box and Card

I hope you are enjoying our Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators’ Blog Hop featuring gift packaging. Fellow demonstrators from all over the globe are participating, so we have a wide variety of fun projects to share with you! You may have landed here from Sue Boerner’s blog – I am sure that you enjoyed her project!

As for my project, I have made a gift box that holds three Ferrero Rocher chocolates, but it also has a pouch attached that holds a small card.

A few of these gift boxes are great to have on hand to give to anyone who needs a little token of appreciation, thanks, or just a boost that only chocolate can provide. I have given them to colleagues in my office and they all loved them!

Circle Journal Round 8

I’ve received the last circle journal for this cycle. The next journal that arrives in my post box will be mine coming back to me.

The title of this journal is Show Me Your True Colours. The description that goes with it is “I love how black and white backgrounds make every colour pop, by highlighting and reflecting the true essence of all the other colours in the spectrum. Please show me your favourite True Colours”.

For this journal, I decided to try a technique the I haven’t tried before. It is called Joseph’s Coat Technique. This is my card

To make this card, start with a piece of whisper white card stock. Using your ink pad and a sponge dauber, put dots of your first colour onto the card. I used Grapefruit Grove.

Next add your second colour in between the first. My second colour was Flirty Flamingo

Lastly fill in all the white gaps with your third colour. Mine was Coastal Cabana. Once your cardstock is completely coloured, stamp your design onto it with Versamark ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

Pick up black Momento ink on your sponge dauber, and rub it over the complete card covering it completely. The ink won’t stick to the clear embossing, and the colours will pop through the back. Once it is completely covered, take a tissue and gently rub it over the card to buff the extra ink off the embossing.

I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder, and I feel like my finished card ticks all the boxes for this journal.

Circle Journal Round 7

Another Circle Journal has come around to me. The theme of this one is all about texture. The description and instructions for this journal are as follows: “My goal this year with card making is to use more texture in the form of embossing (both heat and folders) and to use background stamps to add interest to card stock. My ask is: Make cards that use stamping to add interest to backgrounds. Use embossing folders in an interesting way Heat emboss in any way possible”

This is my card.

It ticks all the boxes that were required. This circle was stamped with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with copper embossing powder. I coloured the petals in with the Blueberry Bushel Stampin” Write Marker

I hope that you have noticed the embossing on the Balmy Blue Circle. That was done with the Subtle embossing folder. This is a beautiful folder which gives the paper a linen look.

I am not sure if it is coming up too well in the photo, but as a final touch, I gave the card a spritz with the Bright Copper Shimmer Paint. If you haven’t tried the shimmer paint yet, you don’t know what you are missing. This is the best thing since Wink of Stella!!!

One more journal to go, and then mine will complete the circle and come back to me. Can’t wait to see the cards that everyone has has created for my journal.

Circle Journal Round 6

We are nearing the end of this Circle Journal round. I have already received the next one, and then there is one more to go before my journal comes back to me. It is going to be so exciting to see what everyone has come up with for me!!

The theme of this journal is “Birthdays and Animals”. The introduction to the theme is as follows: I have chosen this theme as birthday cards are my most popular. However, I only have one animal stamp set, (Bella and Friends) so I look forward to inspiration from you.

I don’t have Bella and friends, but what I do have is Ready For Christmas which has a really cute Dachshund in it. I also have a friend who is mad about Dachshunds and whose birthday was yesterday, so I decided to do 2 cards on this theme. This is my card:

Here is a paper saving tip for you: When you are using DSP or foil or glimmer paper that you are going to be layering, you can cut out of the middle of your paper and it is hidden once you layer on top of it. My happy birthday here was cut out of the piece of DSP that you see around the edge of the white card stock.

Remember to decorate the inside and the envelope.

I am seeing my friend in a little while for coffee, so I will know soon if she likes her card

Circle Journal Round 5

The last couple of weeks have been crazy busy! Between work and lots of happy family get togethers, I haven’t had time to sit and my computer and write up my blog posts.

I received this journal about two and a half weeks ago (in fact I have already received the next one!). At least the card was completed and the journal was sent off on it’s next round on time.

The theme of this journal was trees. From the mighty oak to palm trees. It could be a whole tree or part of a tree as long as there was a tree involved.

Circle Journal Round 4

On Monday, I had happy mail in my postbox in the form of the next Circle Journal! We are almost halfway through this round (this is the fourth journal from nine) and as a first time participant, I love the variety of themes and cards that the other ladies are coming up with.

This journal’s theme is ‘CASE my card’, CASE being an acronym for ‘Copy And Share Everything’. She chose a card sketch and made a card based on that sketch. According to the instructions, I had to copy the layout and/or colour scheme (Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry), or alter to suit my own design. This is the sketch that she based her card on.

I have been working with the gorgeous Petal Promenade DSP this week and decided to keep using it for this Circle Journal card. I liked the layout of the sketch, so I used that and this is what I came up with.

Can you see the Wink of Stella on the banner? In my opinion, a bit of sparkle makes everything even better!!!

Hand Delivered Get Well Card

The card that I am showing today is a really fast and easy card.

It uses the Hand Delivered host stamp set. You will find this set on page 229 in the Just For Hosts section of the catalogue. This is my favourite host stamp ever! it is incredibly cute and has a number of different sentiments which makes it very versatile. Using the Stamparatus makes it particularly easy to position the stamps

This set can only be purchased using Stampin’ Rewards. When you place an order of $250 or more, you will earn these rewards. For an order of $250-$500 the rewards are 10% of the order. If your order is $500-$750 the rewards are 12% of the order. $750-$1000 rewards are 14% and over $1000 the rewards are 15%. These Stampin’ Rewards can be used to buy anything in the catalogue and can also be used to purchase the host stamp sets.

I have used the Tranquil Tide DSP. The pack of paper comes with all 4 of the 2017-2019 in colours. As you can see in the picture below it comes with 4 different designs (stripes and dots) in each colour.

Circle Journal – Round 2

I received the next circle journal this week.

It is now starting to get more exciting as each journal that arrives will have more cards in it as it has been passed on to more people.

The theme of this journal is Christmas. This one has two cards in it, the one that the owner of the journal made, and the one made by the lady who had it before me. I really like one of the cards in there, and might have taken a photo of it to make myself when I start making my Christmas cards!

The card that I have made is using one of my favourite card designs. I think that it is really effective, and uses up some of the designer series paper (DSP) stash that we all seem to love hoarding.

This card can be adapted to any occasion. This tutorial shows a birthday version. You could use the same design to make a wedding or engagement card, or any other occasion that you need. Just match the DSP to your type of card, and it will come out beautifully!

Circle Journal – Round 1

This post is really late, but I finally got around to sitting down and typing it up. I received the first circle journal last week! When the envelope arrived, it was so exciting to open it up and see the journal inside!

It’s going to be interesting to see the themes that everyone has chosen. The theme of this one is “Flora and Fauna”.

I have a friend who is ill and wanted to send her a get well card, so I decided to combine the two cards that I needed to make and reached for one of my favourite stamp sets in the catalogue, Dandelion Wishes. I also stepped out of my comfort zone and decided to use green (everyone who knows me will realise how unusual this is for me). Soft Sea Foam is such a pretty colour and was the perfect choice for this card.
