Festive Friday #FF0218 – Elegantly Wrapped

Thanks for joining us for this Festive Friday challenge. Have you ever played along with Festive Friday? There is a new challenge every second Friday. The challenge has an overall theme plus an inspiration list. You choose at least three of the inspiration elements and make a project. Your project can be a card, 3D item, or scrapbook layout and can reflect the main theme or just use the inspiration elements and have nothing to do with the theme. This is the inspiration list for this fortnight:

This is an easy theme as anything goes for World Card Making day.

The inspo item that I used are Jewel Colours (I was trying for ruby, sapphire and amber), Rhinestones (that I coloured to match the jewel colours) and Special Day Sentiment. The sentiment was done using the left over hot foil sheet and the Reverse Hot Foil Die

We always have to play with new stuff, this time I used the Copper Foil Rolls, Tile Garden dies and Thinking Of You stamp set which will be available on the 1st September.

I used orange, copper, strength sentiment (sort of) and banner from the inspo list.

Festive Friday #FF0216 – Fern & Flora

My plan was to use one of the new stamp set that is coming in the September – December catalogue, but when I had it in front of me, it wouldn’t work, so I had to pivot. This is the new vision:

The new Product Of The Month, Glow Of Harvest DSP was the perfect colour palate and I combined that with the Fern & Flora bundle. The inspo items in my card are neutral colours, texture (this is a sneak peek of a new embossing folder – Softly Woven that is coming in the next catalogue) and jungle leaves (ferns might be more rain forest bit I’m going with jungle!)

There is of course, a perfect bundle for this theme – Capturing Smiles, which is a staple for any photography enthusiasts and a must use for my card. The inspo items are black, white,camera, film strip and smile sentiment.

Once again my card has nothing to do with the day – National Bikini Day (unless the butterflies are flying around at the beach) but the colours worked beautifully with my butterflies. The inspo items that I used are purple, pink, blue and sequins.

I’m not sure of the reason why, but Father’s Day in Australia is in September. You could adapt this card to a masculine birthday card but changing the sentiment. The inspo items that I used are masculine colours, splatters, gears and Father’s Day sentiment. The Gears & Textures bundle was the perfect product for this fortnight, although the colours that I used are not my go to.

I am a bit obsessed with the Balloon Festoon bundle at the moment. This is what regularly seems to appear in my hand when I am making cards. The inspo items in this card are primary colours, epoxy embellishments, balloons (I’m taking a bit of poetic license here and ignoring the hot air part of that item), clouds and birthday sentiment.
