Let’s Craft Together – September picture challenge using Beary Christmas DSP

Thank you for joining us for this month’s Let’s Craft Together blog hop. We are a group of
multi-cultural Stampin’ Up!® demonstrators in Australia who have developed a strong friendship though our love of stamping and our admiration of each other’s style of crafting. Each month one of us sets a challenge that we use for the blog hop. This month’s challenge is a picture inspiration that was set by Maheswari Rajaguru.

I decided to use the layout of the picture, but I changed the orientation. I took the picture and flipped it 90º.

This card is really easy to make – it is just cutting images from the Beary Christmas DSP which will be available from 6th September. I wanted to make my card less Christmas and more general birthday. Some DSP inside and my card was complete!

Let’s Craft Together – Potted Geraniums with Friendly Gnomes

For this month, we have a mystery challenge.

Once I decided which products and colours I wanted to use, I sat and played with the pieces. I did cheat a little bit as my rectangle is slightly longer and narrower than it is supposed to be. I really wanted to use the Radiating Stitches dies in my card. This is my end result:

Let’s Craft Together – Rain Or Shine

I have used this layout (or variations of it) on a number of cards recently, and I LOVE it! I posted a card for a blog hop a couple of weeks ago and had a number of people messaging me and asking for the measurements. If you missed that card, you can have a look at it here. The measurements are fairly simple. The DSP strips are 5.0 cm (2″) wide. The left one is 10.0 cm (3″) long. The right one is 5.0 cm (2 1/4″) long. They don’t meet in the middle, but that is covered up by your focal point piece.

Let’s Craft Together Blog Hop – Rain Or Shine

Thank you for joining us for our inaugural Let’s Craft Together blog hop. We are a quartet of multi cultural Stampin’ Up! demonstrators in Australia who have developed a strong friendship though our love of stamping and our admiration of each other’s style of crafting.

Today’s hop is a colour challenge. Here is the inspiration:

I managed to use all the colours in my card. If you are wondering where I found all these cute characters – they are in the Playing In The Rain bundle which is in the new January – April 2023 mini catalogue and is available to order from tomorrow.

To get the effect of the sky, I inked up the Raindrops embossing folder with Tahitian Tide ink and ran it through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine. I water coloured all the critters and Wink Of Stella added shine to the umbrella and clouds.
