Hues Of Happiness for World Ovarian Cancer Day

Thank you for joining us for the May Blogging Friends hop. This month we are showing our support for World Ovarian Cancer Day – which is on the 8th May. Ovarian cancer is the most lethal of the female cancers. This isn’t one type of cancer, but is the umbrella term for 30 different types of cancers. The colour for ovarian cancer is teal. Translating teal into Stampin’ Up! colours, I have used Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana.

I used the Happiness Abounds bundle to do the stamping and the dies in the bundle to cut out the flowers from the Hues Of Happiness DSP (one of the best features of this suite is that the dies cut out the flowers in the DSP. For the centre panel. I applied Coastal Cabana ink to the Fern 3D Embossing Folder. The Coastal Cabana foil sheet is no longer available, it was from the pack that was part of the Waves Of Inspiration pre-order.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope everyone has a fun and creative weekend. Be sure to hop around and see what everyone else has created.

Pansy Petals Birthday Card

Thank you for joining us for the April Blogging Friends hop. The theme for this hop is “Flowers” The northern hemisphere is moving into warmer weathers and will have flowers in bloom, and in the southern hemisphere we are heading for cooler weather and the flowers on cards that don’t die will be keeping our spirits up.

Pansy Petals is one of the bundles that will be carrying over to the new catalogue, but the DSP will not. One of the fun features of this DSP is that the images on it co-ordinate with the Pansy dies. This is one of the projects that I did for the Bundle Bonus collaboration. If you would like to know more about this, you can find the details here. The card has a surprise inside.

Here is the video that was part of the Bundle Bonus

Awesome Otters

Thank you for joining us for the January Blogging Friends hop. The theme for this hop is “Island Vibes, Rainbows and Otters – Oh My! As you might have gathered by this fun title, our focus on this hop is Sale-A-Bration January – February 2022. Unfortunately for us in the South Pacific, because of the current world wide supply issues (thank you Covid!) there are a large number of the Sale-A-Bration items that haven’t landed on our shores as yet. Don’t despair, they are on the water and Stampin’ Up! will make them available for redemption as soon as they land. If you love some of the projects made by our hoppers in other markets, pin the project and add the supplies to your wish list – you will be able to redeem them eventually. For my card, I have used the stamp set that is available the super cute Awesome Otters!

I have used the Simply Marbleous DSP (also a Sale-A-Bration item which is available in Australia) to complete this card.

If you want the instructions to make this card, join me for a Facebook live on Sunday (9 January) at 10:00. You can like my Facebook page here, and you will be able to see the event.

Blue New Year!

Thank you for joining us for the November Blogging Friends hop. The theme for this hop is “Blue”. Projects feature monochromatic projects in different shades of blue.

As soon as I saw the new Simply Marbelous DSP which is one of the Sale-A-Bration items which is redeemable from 3rd January, I knew that I wanted to use it to make a starburst card.

This paper is beautiful and comes in shades of blue, green, yellow, pink, purple and grey. The alternate pieces are the Ombre Specialty Paper.

The video below is one I did using the ombre paper from an earlier Sale-A-Bration, but you will be able to see the technique.

I love making these triangular crackers with a mini (50g) Toblerone inside them. I have seen them on special for $1 each at the supermarket this week, so it was time to stock up and start making crackers! You can get 3 crackers out of one 12″sheet of DSP, so this makes an inexpensive gift that brings lots of happiness (Everyone loves chocolate!)

Below is a short video which shows how easy they are to make.

Thinking of Halloween

Thank you for joining us for the September Blogging Friends hop. The theme for this hop is “All Hallows Eve”. Halloween is a difficult theme for me. I am probably the Halloween Grinch in Australia! My (boring) day job is a tax consultant, and 31st October is the last day of tax season. Either I get home when it is dark and everything is over, or if I do get home early, I am so exhausted that I sneak into the house, turn off the front lights and pretend I am not at home! Given all of this, I had to be a bit creative when I was making this card:

I don’t have any Halloween stamps, so I went scratching through my supplies. The trees are from the Beauty of Friendship stamp set, the clouds and fence were cut out using the sheep dies (Sale-A-Bration item available now), the cats were punched out with the cat punch (I sponged the edges of the cats with some Whisper White Craft Ink on a Sponge Dauber to make them a bit more visible against the fence) and the sentiment is from the Days To Remember stamp set. The slightly red moon came from the Glitter Ombre Specialty Paper and the glowing red eyes are the Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Now would be a good time to start making a stack of these cards to hand out around the neighbourhood so that everyone has their treats waiting for when the Spooks, Specters and Goblins come calling!!

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope everyone has a fun and creative weekend. Be sure to hop around and see what everyone has created.

Beauty Of Tomorrow Fall Card

Thank you for joining us for the August Blogging Friends hop. The theme for this hop is “Fall Days Are Coming”, and features products from the new mini catalogue. If you regularly follow my blog, you will know that my blog hop last week was a Summer Dream theme (if you missed it, you can click here to see my cute sheep card), and today we are on to the next season! This is part of the fun of being involved in a international group of talented people – we are all experiencing different seasons and (don’t get me started) time zones!!

Most of the products in this card are from the new July-December mini catalogue. The bundle that I have used is called Beauty of Tomorrow. The flowers are stamped (and then fussy cut) from the Quiet Meadow stamp set in the annual catalogue. The big leaf in the background is cut out of the Gold Shimmer vellum and the ribbon is Cherry Cobbler and Gold 1/2″ ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope everyone has a fun and creative weekend. Be sure to hop around and see what everyone has created.
