Chain Card Swap – Translucent Florals

At the beginning of October, I started a fun journey with 10 other Australian demonstrators. We called it a “Chain Card Swap”. It is a card version of what is called “Chinese Whispers” in Australia (we called it “Broken Telephone” in South Africa). Each of us designed a card (round 1) and sent it off to one of the other participants. That person CASE-d (Copy And Share Everything) the card and send their version on to the next person. The card made its way around until finally a version came home to the maker. This is the final card in a series of blog hops for each of the card designs to share the fun and amazement at the evolution.

This was the card that I designed, so I am the first stop on this hop. I apologise for the quality of my photos in this post. I was so excited to get my card sent off, I forgot to take a photo. Photos were very kindly taken for me, but they aren’t my usual standard.

This is a simple gate fold card that opens like this:

You can click here to purchase all the products used to make this card at my online store. This will add all the products to your cart, you can remove any that you don’t want to purchase. Please use the host code on the side of my blog if you order total is under $250.00.

It was mind blowing to see the difference between the first card and the one that returned home. Hop though the blog posts to see how we all interpreted the card differently and how it evolved from start to finish.

This month’s fold is a Double Slider card. This card looks a bit scary when you start, but the instructions make it easy to complete. All the samples that were made for this tutorial are gorgeous! Here is a sneak peek of the samples included in the tutorial:

If you live in Australia and don’t have a demonstrator, please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to assist you with your stamping needs. You can also shop from home at my online store. If your order is under $250, please use the host code XCWCK4YV at the checkout.

If you are like me and need to have absolutely everything in the catalogue, give some thought to joining my team! You pay $169.00 and can choose $235.00 worth of products in your starter kit. This means that you receive $66.00 of free product.

Chain Card Swap – Simply Zinnias

At the beginning of October, I started a fun journey with 10 other Australian demonstrators. We called it a “Chain Card Swap”. It is a card version of what is called “Chinese Whispers” in Australia (we called it “Broken Telephone” in South Africa). Each of us designed a card (round 1) and sent it off to one of the other participants. That person CASE-d (Copy And Share Everything) the card and send their version on to the next person. The card made its way around until finally a version came home to the maker. This is the tenth card in a series of blog hops for each of the card designs to share the fun and amazement at the evolution.

The next card that we are sharing was designed by Sharni Green. My suggestion is that you start at her blog post and then click through the link list which is in round order. My CASE of her card was at round 10. This is another one where if you look at the first card and then the last card, you wouldn’t think that they are related.

I used the gorgeous Flowering Zinnias suite for this card.

You can click here to purchase all the products used to make this card at my online store. This will add all the products to your cart, you can remove any that you don’t want to purchase. Please use the host code on the side of my blog if you order total is under $250.00.

There is still time for you to join the Flowering Zinnia Stamp Camp (although you won’t have your kit before the event). For details about how to join click here. These are 3 of the cards we will be making (there are 9 in total).

It was mind blowing to see the difference between the first card and the one that returned home. Hop though the blog posts to see how we all interpreted the card differently and how it evolved from start to finish.

As this post goes live, I will be making my way home from an exhilarating (and exhausting) weekend that was the Stampin’ Up! convention. I am sharing a card that I did for an organised swap. I demonstrated this card at an exclusive customer event last week. Below is the replay of the presentation.

Share It Sunday – Reach For The Stars

Thank you for joining us for our Sunday blog hop (of course in Australia this goes live at 1:00am Monday morning, but it is a great start to the working week when we wake up!) There is no theme for this hop, it is for each of us to choose what project we want to share.

I recently attended a Stampin’ Up! 35 for 35 event. There were lost of sample cards scattered around. I was awed by a card created by Michelle Taylor. I took photos and got my husband to figure out how the mechanism works. My version is different from Michelle’s, but it has the same effect. This is the front of the card

The WOW! happens when you open the card and your astronaut pops up
