12 Weeks of Christmas – Week 2 with Whimsy & Wonder

Are you ready to make your next batch of Christmas cards? I don’t know how many cards you send out, but I send heaps! My husband tells me that I keep Australia Post in business. It is quite amusing that a Jewish person sends out so many Christmas cards, but I LOVE sending cards, so any excuse will do and it brings joy to the person receiving them , so win-win!

This card uses the some of the elements from the beautiful Whimsy & Wonder Suite. (If you want more inspiration for this suite, place an order by the 19th October and get a tutorial bundle filled with ideas. There is a sneak peek of the projects at the bottom of this post)
You are probably thinking that this looks like a nice card, but wait! There’s more! The magic happens when you open it!

I participate in a number of online events. These are free for my customers and feature a talented group of international demonstrators who each present a project. Global SU Share Fair is every second month, and Woo Hoo Weekend is quarterly. Next month is going to be busy – Share fair is on the 6th November and Woo Hoo Weekend is the 27th. The invitations to join the Woo Hoo Weekend group will be sent out at the beginning of November. This is the card that I demonstrated at the August Weekend. It was using the Blackberry Beauty Suite and will show you how to do the inside of the card.

Virtual Christmas Card Class

I was hoping that we were going to be able to get together for card classes, but with the current lockdown rules, I don’t think that is going to be an option any time soon.

Seeing as we are already in October and I don’t anticipate that we will be able to meet in person before the end of November, this would be a bit late to start making Christmas cards!

So, I am going to host an online class, either by Zoom, or using a different video conferencing app that I am currently investigating (details to follow).

I will post out the kits and you will get the materials to make 6 cards (2 each of 3 different designs).  The kits will have all the card stock, designer series paper and die cuts required to complete your cards.

In addition, you will need to add sentiments using whatever stamp sets you have in your stash (contact me if you would like any new ones), ink to stamp the sentiments, and adhesives (glue and dimensionals).

The cost of the class will be $40 (including postage).  Once I have finished designing the cards, I will let you know what we are making.  One of them will definitely be a pinwheel tower card – you may have seen that these are the latest craze and they are fun to make with a wow factor!

Please let me know as soon as possible if you are going to participate to allow enough time for your kits to get to you (I am sure that you are aware that post is taking a bit longer at the moment).

If you need any supplies (stamp sets or consumables for the class), feel free to contact me and I will put in an order for you, or you can go to my online store and place the order yourself.

I hope that you will join me for a fun afternoon of crafting!  If you know anyone who would like to join us, please feel free to share this post with them.

12 Weeks Of Christmas – Week 1

I find it difficult to believe that we are starting the last quarter of 2021. Even with all the lock downs and craziness which has felt like this year was a repeat of 2020, it seems to have zoomed past! in 12 weeks time, it will be Christmas again. This year I am doing a 12 week count down to Christmas. Every Saturday for the next 3 months, I will share a Christmas idea. There will be a selection of cards, tags, packaging and table decorations. If you want o play along with me, you will have a week to make the projects before the next one comes along

Last weekend we held our bi-monthly event – Global SU Share Fair. If you don’t know what this is, it is an event where I collaborate with other Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world and we each do a Facebook live presentation. This month there were 14 presenters all using a different stamp set and providing heaps of inspiration. This was my project.

The measurements for this card are as follows:
Base 21cm x 14.9cm / 81/2″ x 5 1/2″
Arm 10.5 cm x 4.7cm / 41/4″ x 1 7/8″
Top rectangle 5cm / 2″
Insert 14.4cm c 10.0cm / 51/4″ x 4″
DSP (Insert) 14.4cm x 1.0cm / 5 1/4″ v 7/8″

World Card Making Day Online Classes

I am sure that you have heard the buzz – the 2nd October is World card Making Day! We only get 1 day a year where we have a reason (obligation) to make cards. Unfortunately with the current lock down status in Melbourne, we won’t be able to create together. However, we cannot allow the day to pass us by unacknowledged!

The way that we can give the day the recognition that it deserves is to craft together virtually. Stampin’ Up! has given us the perfect solution – card kits!!

I am going to run 2 sessions on the 2nd of October. We will assemble the Paper Pumpkin kit at 10:00 and the Christmas Whimsy kit at 2:00. You are welcome to join me for one or for both sessions.

The Christmas Whimsy is an all inclusive kit and the only additional item that it needs is something to clean your stamps. This kit makes 8 standard size cards (4 cards of 2 different designs with some left over elements to make a few extras).

The Paper Pumpkin makes more general use cards. It is beautiful and co-ordinates with the Expressions in Ink suite in the annual catalogue. This one makes 6 standard size cards and 3 note cards (and also has some left overs). In addition to the kit, you will need an acrylic block to mount your stamps. If you get both kits, you can use the acrylic block from the Christmas Whimsy kit.

Here is my unboxing video so that you can see what come in the kits:

I would love you to join in. If you want to make both kits, but can only attend one time slot, please let me know. I can stay online for a while afterwards and you can make the second kit.

The cost of the Paper Pumpkin kit is $37 and the Christmas Whimsy is $33 (plus postage). Please contact me if you would like me to place an order for you. You can head over to my online store to place the order yourself. (Please use the button with the host code on the side to shop). As this is going to be a virtual event, you can join from anywhere in Australia. I would suggest that you place your order early so that it will get to you in time.

Please spread the word to all your friends, and let’s have a big online party to commemorate World Card Making day! Hoping to see you then

September Suite Of The Month

If you don’t know what Suite of the month is, it is where we highlight One product suite ed each month. I hope these suites are on your shopping list because you will earn a free make and take kit when you purchase the designated suites. Then meet me in Zoom to assemble the kits while I demonstrate where all the pieces go. If you miss the Zoom social, a Youtube link will be sent to you so you can assemble the kits at your leisure.

In addition, I am collaborating with other demonstrators across the globe that will be sharing 2 projects each using the same product suite. We are anticipating that there will be at least 5 demonstrators participating each month. This means that you will get a minimum of 10 different ideas to use with the rest of your product suite by watching these videos. Although you will only get the kit for my make ‘n takes, you will be able to make all the other projects because you have purchased the suite! Much as we would like to buy everything in the catalogue, we also have to choose which are our favourite favourites, so the demonstrators can vary from month to month.

The next suite that we have chosen to show case in the Suite Of The Month series, is Tidings of Christmas. To purchase your suite from my online store, click here

Here is a sneak peek of the projects in this month’s bundle:

Please order early in the month if you want to participate in the Zoom socials since the socials will be held on the Wednesday 29th September 6:30-7:30pm, and Thursday 30th September 10:30-11:30am AEST.

I will need some time to prepare your kit and post it to you. When I see an order come through with the designated Sui I will need some time to prepare your kit and post it to you. When I see an order come through with the designated Suite of the Month, I’ll ship your make and take kit to you automatically for that month.

You are welcome to order any and all of the suites on the same order as well so you can earn and spend all the host rewards. If your order stays under $250 (excluding shipping), please use the host code on the side when ordering.

Here are the Suites being featured each month. Links to my online store to order these products are embedded. The page numbers refer to pages in the 2021-2022 annual catalogue unless stated otherwise.

September – Tidings of Christmas, pg 88-89. Cute stockings and friendly greetings to start making your Christmas cards

November – Pansy Petals, pg 28-29. Gorgeous pansies in pretty colours to lead us into summer.

These previous suites are still available with an order (although you won’t get the kit and Zoom social). Some of these these suites are all from the January – June mini catalogue and have retired.. The bundles have carried over to the annual catalogue, but the DSP is no longer available, so you will have to choose a substitute DSP

Hand-Penned, page 104-105. A whimsical collection in soft, pretty colours.
Simply Elegant, page 68-69. As the name suggests an elegant suite with (in my opinion) the best DSP in the catalogue!
Dandy Garden Suite, pages 24-27, a dragonfly punch in 2 sizes!
Hydrangea Hill Suite, pages 18-19, 2 shades of purple pearls and purple acetate sheets! (The pearls and acetate sheets did carry over)
Ice Cream Corner Suite, pages 48-49, a bright and warm color palette and ice cream cone punch

Christmas card swap.

I recently participated in a Christmas card swap. I made a pile of cards (all the same) and sent them off. A few weeks later a got a lovely surprise in my post box – a satchel with all my swaps in it! I decided to share these cards with you. I know it is a bit close to Christmas – I might suggest that next year they do the swap earlier, but the cards are beautiful and well worth sharing. Some of the products are being retired, so if you love the stamp set you need to get your order in soon. If you want a quick visual view, you can watch my video. I am also going to show the individual cards and the main products that were used.

This is my card. It is using my favourite Poinsettia Petals bundle and Plush Poinsettia specialty paper. This bundle is being carried over, but will no longer be available at the discounted bundle price once the catalogue has retired. Below is a video of the Facebook live that I did making this card

This beautiful card was made by Judie Novack and used the Dove of Hope bundle

These 2 cards didn’t have names on them. They both used the Curvy Christmas stamp set, Curvy dies (not available to purchase seperately at this stage) and Classic Christmas DSP.

This card was made by Aimee Wicks. She used Snowflake Wishes bundle and Snowflake Splendor DSP. Below is the Facebook live that I did which demonstrates this technique

This cute card was made by Joy. She used Coming Home and Itty Bitty Christmas stamp sets with Heartwarming hugs DSP

These two were made by Denise Ryan and are really cute half size cards! The first one is using Still Scenes stamp set. The second one also uses the Snowflake Splendor stamp set. This has been combined with the Stitched Stars dies. Coincidentally she used the same DSP as the card above.

This card was made by Sandra Mackie and uses the Ornamental Envelopes stamp set and the Envelopes dies

Last but night least is this lovely shiny card by Cheryl Hurst. She used For Unto Us stamp set, Evergreen Forest 3D embossing folder and the brass foil sheets

I hope that seeing these cards brought you as much joy as receiving them did to me, and has given you lots of ideas and inspiration

Paper Crafting Blog Hop – Curvy Christmas Card

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. Fellow demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia are participating. We have a wide array of fun projects and design styles to share with you! Our theme this month is “December Holidays”. You may have arrived from Shirley Merker’s blog. Didn’t she have a great project?

I am using the Curvy Christmas stamp set again along with the Classic Christmas DSP. Aren’t human beings ridiculous? Give us a straight stamp and we want to curve it! This sentiment stamp is curved, so of course I had to pull it straight! The DSP pack has Cherry Cobbler, Sahara Sand (used in this card) and Shaded Spruce as the colour palate. I also used the Brushed Metallic cardstock

Poinsettia Petals white on White Thank You

Thank you for visiting today as I join Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world in playing along with our friend Kylie’s International Blog Highlights to share cards that show appreciation.
