12 Weeks of Christmas – Week 10

I recently took part in a Facebook event which was focused on Christmas projects. My project is a gift box which is filled with tags and notelets. It uses the Whimsy & Wonder suite which is retiring. The stamps and dies are still available, but unfortunately the DSP is sold out. You can use any DSP that you have on hand to make up the project. It does take a bit of time to complete the project, but the results are worth the effort. I have given a few boxes as gifts and the recipients have been super excited to receive them.

Here is a Facebook live video to make the box

12 Weeks of Christmas – Week 9

Can you believe that 3 weeks today will be Christmas? Where has this year gone?
I participated in an online event for Black Saturday. In that event, I demonstrated a card with a gift box that fits into the top of the card. For today’s post, I have made this project in Christmas colours.

You could use this to put a small gift into the box or instead of the Christmas greeting, why not put a name on it, and use them as place cards for Christmas lunch or dinner? A small gift or some chocolate in the box, and everyone is happy!

The video below is the unedited Facebook live from the event. It shows the project made using the Artistic Impressions suite, but change up the greeting and the DSP and make it fit whatever occasion you like. (Anyone getting engaged? A diamond ring in the box would definitely get you a yes!)

12 Weeks of Christmas – Week 8

I hope that you are well on your way to having all your Christmas cards made. If they haven’t been posted, it is time to get them into the mail. Here is another card to add to the collection

This is an easy card suing the Christmas Trees dies and Expressions in Ink DSP. I have mixed everything into this card, the sentiment is from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set. It isn’t showing up too9 well in the photo, but the trees have some Wink of Stella brushed over them to add the finishing sparkle.

Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop – Christmas Cheer

Thank you for joining us for the November 2021 Stampin’ Creative blog hop. The theme for this month is “Christmas Cheer”. I have decided to use the Ever Eden DSP for my card. Remember, this suite is a pre-order for the January – June 2022 mini catalogue, and the DSP is only available as part of the pre-order. If you want some, you need to place your order ASAP as it is only available while stocks last.

Last month after World Card Making Day, we had world card sending week. I received this card from Leona Bourgault in the USA, and I loved everything about the card, so I had to try and CASE it.

For my card, I inked up my Evergreen Forest 3D embossing folder with Soft Succulent ink and then ran it through my Cut & Emboss machine. Using a standard card base, I cut 5cm (2″) off one edge and then cut that strip into my 3 squares.

Measurements:
Base (Soft Succulent) – 14.9cm x 16.0cm scored at 10.5cm (5 1/2″ x 2 1/4″ scored at 4 1/4″)
Cut the strip that you cut off into 3 equal squares 4.95cm (1 7/8″)
Insert (Basic White) – 14.4cm x 10.0cm (5 1/4″ x 4″)
Basic White (tree embossed) – 5.0cm x 14.4cm (2″ x 5 1/4″)
DSP – 5.0cm x 14.4cm (2″ x 5 1/4″)
– 3 pieces 4.5cm x 4.5cm (1 3/8″ x 1 3/8″)

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Below is the list of all the hop participants. Be sure to visit them all to see what summer dreams they have to share. We love hearing from you, so please leave us comments to let us know what you think about our projects.

Paper Crafting Blog Hop – Whimsy & Wonder

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. Fellow demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia are participating. We have a wide array of fun projects and design styles to share with you! Our theme this month is “December Holidays”. As we have been in lockdown for so long, I feel like everyone is behind where we usually are on making Christmas cards. This one lets the DSP make the statement with a few fun elements added.

I love the Whimsy & Wonder suite. The Christmas trees are fun images and the DSP is amazing. I know lots of people who spent time during lockdown doing puzzles, so that skill comes into this card. I cut out four trees – two in Evening Evergreen and two in Soft Succulent. Place a strip of tear and tape down the back of the tree. Take the pieces from the Soft Succulent and place them into the Evening Evergreen tree and vice versa. I stuck one tree onto the inside of the card, and the last one onto the envelope.

Be sure to complete the hop to see all the wonderful ideas that we have to share with you. The next stop is Annette. I can’t wait to see what she has created this month.

12 Weeks Of Christmas – Week 6

It is scary to think that we are at the half way point in this series, in 6 weeks time it will be Christmas!! I am away this week end at the Stampin’ Up! annual convention. It is a virtual event, but as we are out of lockdown a group of demonstrator friends decided to get together and spend some time during a virtual event together! Whenever we get together we make cards to swap with each other. I made my swap card (I’ll past it at then end) and then decided to do a Christmas version of the same card

I used the stitched triangles to make main design. The DSP and mat are cut using the same triangle and I carefully cut the DSP triangle just inside the stitched line. The poinsettia was heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

I put a strip of the same DSP on the bottom of the insert.

This is the card that I made for my swap. This once uses Blackberry Beauty DSP and the Dragonfly punch. I needed a masculine card, so I used the same design with Eden Garden DSP

12 weeks of Christmas – Week 5 with Tidings of Christmas

This week I am using the Tidings & Trimmings bundle and Tidings of Christmas DSP. This is another one of those cards where you have to make 2 together.

I cut my piece of DSP 10cm x 10cm (4″ x 4″) and then cut it in half on the diagonal. Now that you have 2 pieces of DSP, you have to make 2 cards. If the DSP is non-directional, you can make the cards identical. This piece doesn’t really have a specific direction, but some of the leaves didn’t look right upside down. That is why I used one piece in the bottom corner and one in the opposite top corner. You could also flip it over and use the reverse side of the DSP, but I liked this side.

We have a super awesome group of demonstrators sharing their talents in our private Facebook group called the Global SU Share Fair. We broadcast about every other month with videos available on replay if you miss the live days. There are heaps demonstration videos available on replay, with the next live day on the 5th/6th November (depending on your time zone. Save the date! Today we are CASEing the January 2021 Share Fair projects, with a Christmas/holiday twist. We created a tutorial bundle with all of the fantastic ideas that were presented on that day. I had a really hard time deciding which idea to CASE, but after looking through the bundle numerous times, I decided to CASE Jacqui Lawrence’s accordion fold card. Here is her card (first photo) and my version of it.

The main components of the card are using the Whimsy & Wonder suite. The words are from the Floral Gallery dies and the sentiment is from Poinsettia Petals.

Click on the button below to hop over to Joy’s blog to see which tutorial she has chosen to CASE.

12 Weeks of Christmas – Poinsettia Petals

For this week’s card I have used the Poinsettia Petals stamp set and the Poinsettia dies. I was so pleased that this carried over from last year, because it makes beautiful cards.

Sometimes cards start as a small idea in my head, and then take on a life of their own. I knew that I wanted to use the poinsettias, and I wanted non-traditional colours. (I seem to be leaning away from traditional Christmas colours this year). I was looking through the Ombre Specialty Paper (which is glittery and each sheets gives a gradient of the colour), and the purple caught my attention. You may never see another purple and white poinsettia, but it works for me. What do you think about this colouring?

12 Weeks of Christmas – Week 2 with Whimsy & Wonder

Are you ready to make your next batch of Christmas cards? I don’t know how many cards you send out, but I send heaps! My husband tells me that I keep Australia Post in business. It is quite amusing that a Jewish person sends out so many Christmas cards, but I LOVE sending cards, so any excuse will do and it brings joy to the person receiving them , so win-win!

This card uses the some of the elements from the beautiful Whimsy & Wonder Suite. (If you want more inspiration for this suite, place an order by the 19th October and get a tutorial bundle filled with ideas. There is a sneak peek of the projects at the bottom of this post)
You are probably thinking that this looks like a nice card, but wait! There’s more! The magic happens when you open it!

I participate in a number of online events. These are free for my customers and feature a talented group of international demonstrators who each present a project. Global SU Share Fair is every second month, and Woo Hoo Weekend is quarterly. Next month is going to be busy – Share fair is on the 6th November and Woo Hoo Weekend is the 27th. The invitations to join the Woo Hoo Weekend group will be sent out at the beginning of November. This is the card that I demonstrated at the August Weekend. It was using the Blackberry Beauty Suite and will show you how to do the inside of the card.

Here are the Measurements for this card:
Base – 20.9cmx 14.9cm / 51/2″ x 81/4″ Score at 5.2cm /2″ on either side
