Card Swap Chain – Framed Violets

We have recently finished another round of the “Card Swap Chain”. It is a card version of what is called “Chinese Whispers” in Australia (we called it “Broken Telephone” in South Africa). Each of us designed a card (round 1) and sent it off to one of the other participants. That person CASE-d (Copy And Share Everything / Copy And Selectively Edit) the card and send their version on to the next person. The card made its way around until finally a version came home to the maker. We are now doing a series of blog hops for each of the card designs to share the fun and amazement at the evolution.

My card is at round 6 of this chain. The first card in this chain was created Heather McCarthy. I suggest starting at Heather’s post and then hopping through so that you can see the card progression.

Sometimes the cards change so much that if you only saw the first and the last card, you wouldn’t think that they are on the same chain. It was Heather’s first time swapping with us, and she did tell me that she was surprised with the final card. After my card, the focus shifted to an image inside a frame and stopped connecting what was in the frame with the background stamping.

We Fall In Colours – Radiant Sunflowers

Thank you for joining us for another We Fall In Colours blog hop. Each month we are given three colours and use those colours (together with neutrals) to make our cards. The colours for this month are Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie and Shaded Spruce.

I have started a new venture with Diane Evens from Canada. We are crafting together to create a tutorial kit that you will receive (at no cost) as a thank you gift for orders over $75.00. Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop – Framed Violets

Welcome to another Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. You may be starting at my blog or landed here from another one.
Each month there is a new Inspirational challenge. This month we have an inspirational image and color challenge, you can use either part to create your project i.e:
INK
use the color challenge to create a project unrelated to the image – {There will generally be 4-5 colors for the color challenge you may use some or all colors plus the Stampin’ Up! Basics Colors (Basic Beige, Basic White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black)}
INSPIRATION
use the image subject as inspiration for your project any way you can tie them together is fine or if you are feeling super creative, use BOTH. This is the picture for today

I might have taken some poetic license with the colours – I used some Cherry Cobbler for the shading in the flowers, and as I don’t have a Garden Green Stampin’ Blend, I used Shaded Spruce instead.

I was happy that I had managed to use all the colours in this challenge.

Share It Sunday – Framed Violets

My first card is one that uses lots of little bits with vellum leaves.

Product Of The Month Blog Hop – Begonia Belle

Welcome to our Product Of The Month (POM) blog hop. If you haven’t heard of POM yet, this is what it is all about. Stampin’ Up! has started a new monthly promotion. We Fall In Colours – Framed Violets.

The colours for this month are Lemon Lime Twist, Misty Moonlight and Daffodil Delight. This is not a colour combination that I would usually choose, but I was really happy with my card.

Share It Sunday – Framed Violets

I have been playing with a new suite from the Online Exclusive release that goes live on the 1st July – Framed Violets. This is an absolutely gorgeous suite with the prettiest flowers. I combined beautiful flowers with a fancy fold and this is the result.

Funky Folds Blog Hop – Valley In Bloom

I am excited to be participating in this month’s funky folds blog hop. I LOVE fun folds and this is a group of like-minded paper crafters with same same passion for making cards with
funky folds.
Funky actually means “modern and stylish in an unconventional or striking way” This hop features cards that are not the usual rectangle/square portrait or landscape style.
All Blog Hops have an ‘anything goes’ theme using any type of ‘funky’ card fold.

I am part of a monthly collaboration called Fantastic Fun Folds. Each month we have a tutorial for one fancy fold card and 12 different samples using that tutorial. The tutorial for May was a Secret Message card.

This was a new card for me – I haven’t made one like this before. It is very unique because you pull panels of the card apart to reveal the hidden message. I am starting a new project with Diane Evans in Canada. Any orders over $75 will receive a card kit and tutorial to make four cards. This month’s kit uses the Sunflower Fields suite and has two standard and two fun fold cards. If you don’t have the Radiant Sunflowers bundle you can use any floral bundle and sentiments to complete your cards. Framed Violets Tutorial Bundle

We have had some changes to the Avid Crafting Collective (ACC). Jan Clothier has decided to take a break, and Julia and I have welcomed Chantell Randall from Western Australia as a new designer. Chantell is originally from New Zealand, so we have managed to keep our variety of accents!

We have also decided to change the format – instead of a Stamp Camp which keeps you tied to your computer for hours on a specific day, we are doing a tutorial bundle. There will still be 9 projects – 6 standard cards and 3 fancy folds with video presentations. The difference is that we will each do assembly presentations of all 9 projects on our own Facebook pages starting on the 13th July. No measurements will be given in these presentations – you will need the tutorial for the measurements. Once we have completed the presentations, video links will be added to the written tutorial.

We have a number of options for you to choose from for this tutorial:

1. The Ultimate Package: This comprises the Framed Violets bundle (stamp set and coordinating dies), the tutorial kit (all the card stock to complete the nine projects in the tutorial plus five 6 x 12″ pieces of the Violet Dreams DSP, a pack of the Adhesive-Backed Blooms, 1.5 metres of Fresh Freesia Satin ribbon and envelopes for all the cards) and the PDF tutorial with full instructions and both metric and imperial measurements and assembly videos for the cards.) The cost for all of this (including postage) is $160.00. You will also receive $10 off your next order.

2. The Kit Package: This option gives you the tutorial kit (all the card stock to complete the nine projects in the tutorial plus five 6 x 12″ pieces of the Violet Dreams DSP, a pack of the Adhesive-Backed Blooms, 1.5 metres of Fresh Freesia Satin ribbon and envelopes for all the cards) and the PDF tutorial with full instructions and both metric and imperial measurements and assembly videos for the cards.) The cost for all of this (including postage) is $85.00

The above two options are only available to Australian residents. If you love all the projects and would like to make more than one set of the cards, additional kits are available for purchase for the discounted price of $70.00.

3. The Virtual Package: If you live overseas or don’t want to purchase the products, you are also welcome to join us. This option gives you the PDF tutorial with full instructions and both metric and imperial measurements and assembly videos for the cards. The cost for this option is $35.00.
