Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop – September 2023

Welcome to the September 2023 Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. You may be starting at my blog or landed here from another one.
Each month there is a new Inspirational image and colour challenge. This month we have a different type of challenge – the colour challenge is to select one of your favorite colour palette(s) from the new September – December 2023 Mini Catalogue. The image is a sketch challenge:

I took a very narrow focus for the colour challenge (possibly because I was so excited about the sketch I didn’t read the description properly) and just used the colours in one piece of DSP from the O Holy Night pack.

Let’s Craft Together – September picture challenge using Beary Christmas DSP

Thank you for joining us for this month’s Let’s Craft Together blog hop. We are a group of
multi-cultural Stampin’ Up!® demonstrators in Australia who have developed a strong friendship though our love of stamping and our admiration of each other’s style of crafting. Each month one of us sets a challenge that we use for the blog hop. This month’s challenge is a picture inspiration that was set by Maheswari Rajaguru.

I decided to use the layout of the picture, but I changed the orientation. I took the picture and flipped it 90º.

This card is really easy to make – it is just cutting images from the Beary Christmas DSP which will be available from 6th September. I wanted to make my card less Christmas and more general birthday. Some DSP inside and my card was complete!

Below is the list of participants. Hop all the way around to see how the other ladies were inspired by this challenge.

Crafty Challenge Blog Hop

Welcome to another crafty challenge blog hop. This time, we have a sketch challenge. This is the sketch:

This is my interpretation of this sketch:

I saw a card done by fellow Australian demonstrator Maheswari Rajaguru, and I loved the monotone stamping with a the pop of yellow. When I saw this sketch, I knew that I wanted to give that a try. As the image in this stamp set is so large, I think that my dimensions are a bit different to the sketch. You can still see the inspiration for the layout.

Be sure to hop all the way around and see how everyone else has interpreted this challenge.

Bleached Blessings Of Home For Simple Sketching Saturday

I am a bit late for this weeks Simply Sketchin’ Saturday, but at least I am getting in before the next one is posted!!
Every Saturday a new sketch is uploaded. You can then play along for the week and submit your interpretation of the sketch. You can see the group here.
This is the sketch for this week:

I did change the orientation of the sketch as a portrait card worked better than landscape with the flowers. I used bleach to colour the flowers. As I wanted the leaves to be green, I stamped and embossed the image onto green card stock. The one in my card is stamped onto Soft Succulent. Below are pictures of the ones stamped onto Pear Pizzaz (left) and Old Olive.

Join me for my Facebook live at 10:00 on Sunday and I’ll show you how to colour with bleach.

I need coffee for Simply Sketchin’ Saturday!

It is time for another Simply Sketchin’ Saturday.
Every Saturday a new sketch is uploaded. You can then play along for the week and submit your interpretation of the sketch. You can see the group here.
This is the sketch for this week:

When I started thinking about this, the idea that I had was completed different to the finished product. Whatever I tried wasn’t working for me, and then I decided I needed a coffee to help. Best idea ever – sketch + coffee = inspiration!!

To make this card I combined the words from Nothing’s Better Than with the images from Brew Some Fun. The DSP is Simply Marbleous which is one of the Sale-A-Bration items available at the moment. The background uses the Gingham embossing folder from the January – June 2022 mini catalogue.

Be sure to visit the Facebook group and see how everyone else has interpreted the sketch.
Be sure to pop back next week to see what the next sketch looks like.

Artfully Layered for Simply Sketchin’ Saturday

There is a new Facebook group that started this week. It is called Simply Sketchin’ Saturday. You can see the group here.
The way that it works is that every Saturday a new sketch will be uploaded. You can then play along for the week and submit your interpretation of the sketch.
This is the first sketch:

Of course, when you look at the sketch, the first thought that jumps into your head is “DSP”. I have seen some of the other cards that have been submitted, and using any of our beautiful DSP works beautifully with this sketch. I decided that I didn’t want to use DSP, so I went with heat embossing on vellum

What do you think of my interpretation of this sketch? Be sure to visit the group and see what everyone else’s ideas.

Circle Journal Round 4

On Monday, I had happy mail in my postbox in the form of the next Circle Journal!  We are almost halfway through this round (this is the fourth journal from nine) and as a first time participant, I love the variety of themes and cards that the other ladies are coming up with.

This journal’s theme is ‘CASE my card’, CASE being an acronym for ‘Copy And Share Everything’.  She chose a card sketch and made a card based on that sketch.  According to the instructions, I had to copy the layout and/or colour scheme (Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry), or alter to suit my own design.  This is the sketch that she based her card on.

I have been working with the gorgeous Petal Promenade DSP this week and decided to keep using it for this Circle Journal card.  I liked the layout of the sketch, so I used that and this is what I came up with.

Can you see the Wink of Stella on the banner? In my opinion, a bit of sparkle makes everything even better!!!

These are the products that you will need it you want to CASE this card.
