Colour Inspiration #106 with Delicate Dahlias

Welcome to Colour INKspriation #106. Colour INKspiration is a challenge group on Facebook that sets a colour challenge every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month using Stampin’ Up! colours. Inspiration pictures are from Pinterest. Below is the picture for this challenge:

For this card I used one of the level 2 Sale-A-Bration rewards: Delicate Dahlias. This is a Distinktive stamp set. This means that one stamp will give you the light and dark shading in your image. You can only stamp beautiful flowers with this set! I used the Pretty flowers embossing folder for the background, and the Pool Party flowers were cut out using the Penned Flowers dies. I coloured the rhinestones in the centre of the flowers using the dark Night of Navy Blend. The sentiment is from the Many Happenings stamp set and cut out with the Messages die.

Colour Inkspiration #105

Welcome to Colour INKspriation #105. Colour INKspiration is a challenge group on Facebook that sets a colour challenge every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month using Stampin’ Up! colours. Inspiration pictures are from Pinterest. Below is the picture for this challenge:

For my card I used two techniques that are unusual for me – colouring and fussy cutting! I coloured in the flowers in the Beautifully Penned DSP (one of the Sale-A-Bration items this time) using the Fresh Freesia and Mango Melody (retired) stampin’ blends combo packs, and I coloured in the spaces between the flowers using the Old Olive Stampin’ blends combo pack. The leaves were cut out using the Beautiful leaves dies.

I coloured and cut some of the flowers from the edge of the DSP and stuck them on the inside of the card.

Colour Inkspiration #104

Welcome to Colour INKspriation #104. Colour INKspiration is a challenge group on Facebook that sets a colour challenge every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month using Stampin’ Up! colours. Inspiration pictures are from Pinterest. I am delighted to be joining the team as a guest designer for this challenge. The aim of the design team is to make cards and projects to inspire people and to invite them to join the challenge.

The colours for this challenge are: Bumblebee, Basic White, Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black. There is a standard set of colours you can add to you challenge projects if they are not already part of the challenge colour palette. You may add Basic White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and metallics to your project. We also allow ‘Ivory’ and ‘Bronze’ in the Stampin’ Blends. If you don’t have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU (Stampin’ Up!) substitute.

I heat embossed the flower from Tasteful Touches stamp set onto Cherry Cobbler card base using black embossing powder. The other stamp set that I used is giving a sneak peek of the Beauty of Tomorrow stamp set and Coordinating Beautiful Leaves dies which is new in the mini catalogue. I heat embossed the image onto vellum with white embossing powder and cut it out with the matching die. The sentiment is on a piece cut from the Scalloped Contours dies. Some Gold Foil sheet, Champagne Rhinestones and gold twine from the Simply Elegant Trim pack to add the finishing touches.

Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop – Colours with Color & Contour

Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. You may be starting at my blog or landed here from another one.
Out theme this month is “Let your colours shine”. The whole focus is on colour, which gives us a wide open space to play in!

I have chosen to use Pale Papaya (my favourite 2021-2023 In Colour), and I have put it with Cajun Craze. When I was looking at the In Colours, I held the Pale Papaya and Cajun Craze together and decided that it was a colour match made in heaven – my perfect pair!

I have done two different cards using the flower stamp in the Color & Contour stamp set. The background pieces were cut out using the Scalloped Contours dies. (Remember you can get the stamp set and dies as a bundle at a 10% discount.

On both cards I inked up my stamp in Pale Papaya and then used a sponge dauber to dab Cajun Craze onto the stamp.

I hope the projects you’ve seen here on my blog today have inspired you & given you some colour inspiration. You are currently visiting Tracy Held at Trace Of Creativity in Australia. Please see the list below & hop through all of the people on the list to see all our projects. You don’t want to miss any of them!

Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop – In Colour Inspiration

I am so excited to be joining the talented ladies in the Stampin’ Creative blog hop! The theme for today’s hop is “In Colour Inspiration”. I am sure by now you have seen all the 2021-2023 In Colours – aren’t they beautiful? Sometimes there will be a few colours that I really love, and others that I am not so keen on. This time I love them all!! I even like the greens, and green is not usually my go to colour.

I have used all five In Colours in this card. The background is Evening Evergreen with the flowers stamped in evening Evergreen ink for that subtle tone on tone shading. I used Pale papaya, polished Pink and fresh freesia for the flowers. The water wash underneath the flowers are in Soft succulent. Did you know that you can order all five In Colour stamp pads as a bundle and save 10%? The stamps and dies cuts are done with the Color & Contour bundle. The sentiment is heat embossed.

I always stamp on the inside of my cards (and stamp a matching envelope). This time I stamped a daisy in the top and bottom corners.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Below is the list of all the hop participants. Be sure to visit them all to see what colourful inspiration they have to share. We love hearing from you, so please leave us comments to let us know what you think about our projects.

Colour Inspiration using Sentimental Rose

Today I have decided to play along in another colour challenge. I am using the colour combination from Colour Inkspiration. The combination today is beautiful!!

I used the stamps from the Sentimental Rose Card Kit. This kit is AMAZING, and you get to use the stamps for anything you like once your kit is made up! If you would like to see the made up card kit and my version of some of the cards, you can watch my Facebook live replay here. The scalloped edges were done using the Scalloped Contours dies

We are back in hard lock down for 7 days, so I have been catching up on some stamping! This card is a combination of 2 challenges – the first is CASEing the Catty Sunday Inspiration and the other is Colour Inkspiration challenges

The theme for CASING the Catty was to use an embossing technique (heat or dry embossing). I CASEd the card on page 22 of the annual catalogue

Colour Inkspiration #83

I am a little bit late in posting this, as the colour challenge actually finished a week ago, but better late than never! I enjoy taking part in colour challenges. They sometimes push me out of my comfort zone and force me to work with colours that aren’t my regular go-to colours, and other times inspire me to use combinations that I hadn’t considered.

This challenge forced me to do both. Green isn’t one of my favourite colours, but this combination really works well together. I was very excited to be placed in the top 5 of the entries for this challenge.

Below is my Facebook Live video showing how I made these cards.

Celebrate Sunflowers for Colour INKspiration

I haven’t played along in a colour challenge for a while. When I saw these colours, I couldn’t resist!

Anyone who knows me knows that these are so totally my colours!! I have been playing with the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set, matching dies and my new favourite split card technique, and this is the end result….

Who said that sunflowers have to be yellow?
I LOVE this colour combination and I am going to be making a few more cards using these colours. If you decide to play along, please share your creations.
